Starting Position

Ball can start wherever the coach deems appropriate to the focus of their session.

30 by 30 yards pitch is divided into six 10 by 10 yard zones. 1 player from each team is in each zone. Size of pitch can vary to make zones larger or smaller.

Session can focus on attacking, defending or even goalkeeping key factors.

Each player must stay within their zone. This means that when their team is in possession they must try and create themselves as much space as possible. In each zone a 1 v 1 situation arises so the coach can focus on attacking or defending in a 1 v 1 setting. Player’s in the two attacking zones can either release a quick shot, combine for quick interacting play or can attempt to beat their defender and run into a 1 v 1 situation with the goalkeeper.

The higher the skill level the more fluid this game becomes, players can look to play first time, go backwards in order to go forwards, players learn to anticipate their team mates movements and passes.
