Starting Position

All players begin within the area with a ball each.

This area the players are in is Gotham City and it is an island city. That means if the players go outside the area (without permission) their strong body armour loses some protection. They can afford to go out 3 times before they have no protective body armour left (which is the equivalent of having 3 lives, but the amount of lives can be altered and adjusted as required).

As they move around the other required stipulations that can be employed include:

  1. Jewel – The ball is a precious jewel so to keep to it safe and not break it the players must use soft touches (this also keeps the ball in playing distance). They must also keep their identities safe so they should leave no fingerprints on the jewel (this deters the player’s from using their hands to keep the ball under control).
  2. Ring Ring – The Bat phone (direct line to the Mayor) is ringing, stand by red cone to and listen to the Mayor’s instructions.
  3. To the Batcave – Running with the ball to Batcave in under 10 seconds, then 5 seconds. Distance of Batcave from the city is dependant on how far the players can travel in the allocated time limit.

Batman’s arch-enemies can also be included to ensure the players perform other desired techniques:

  1. Circus sound (i.e. The Joker) - Ten touches on top of ball.
  2. P-P-P Pick up a penguin - Ten touches moving the ball from inside of one foot to the other.
  3. Starting to get chilly or make a chattering of teeth sound (Mr Freeze) – Stop and freeze where you are.
  4. Poison ivy – Complete a circle around a green cone, start inside foot then progress onto outside.

However these are not all the stipulations and restrictions that can be imposed. The coach is encouraged to be as inventive as possible. The more inventive and more energetic the coach the greater the enjoyment level for the player’s, who learn without realising it!
