Tour - Sessions

The Sessions section is the most comprehensive one within the site, accounting for almost 700 pages. This is because it is arguably the most important element of the coachs role. The ability to implement and oversee appropriate coaching sessions in accordance with the players abilities and reasons for playing is crucial, and a major factor in determining not only the coachs success but also the players continued improvement and participation within the sport. Therefore to make life easier for the coach, CoachesColleague.Com have provided sessions for every standard and approach the coach could desire, ranging from Participation Orientated coaching sessions for football players at a grassroots level through to UEFA A Licence standard coaching sessions for Professional players. And as a result providing the coach with a foundation to design and plan their sessions from, regardless of their own ability and experience.

Each session is accompanied with a detailed walk through describing precisely what the coach should be observing and what they can expect to be seeing. In addition to this guide there is also a simplistic yet realistic animation, which has been designed and utilised this way for a number of reasons;

  • Highlight the organisation of the session
  • Show an example of the session being executed correctly
  • Members not paying high yearly subscription fees to subsidise a software costs
  • And, arguably most important, loading times are kept to a minimum.

CoachesColleague.Com also acknowledges that because the players reasons for participating vary, as does the need for specialist coaching for some positions the Session section has been broken down into 6 sub-sections:

  • Participation
  • Performance
  • Goalkeeping
  • Fitness
  • Set Pieces
  • Warm Up

These are then broken down even further into Session Specific categories to ensure the session is completely appropriate.

Session Examples:

  • Participation - Batman
  • Performance - 11 v 11 Man for Man Marking
  • Goalkeeping - Dealing with Crosses 1: Unopposed
  • Fitness - 25 and 6 Second Intervals
  • Set Pieces - Attacking Free Kick 15
  • Warm Up - Goalkeeper Match Day Warm Up
