Starting Position

Players are split into groups of 3. Each group of 3 are provided with a ball each and adopt a position within the area.

The players must continually pass the ball between themselves as they move around the grid. As there are at least 3 groups moving around, there are other players that may interfere with the passing channels. The players should not pass if there is an obstruction. They should shift the ball to another place so that they are safely deliver the ball to the desired team mate. It is also the responsibility of the receiving player to assume the correct angle and distance of support so that the ball can be played to them. Their body shape when receiving the ball should be open so that they can see as much of the area as possible, especially their team mates. That way they can notice any obstructions and plan their next pass before the ball even reaches them.

As the all is travelling the receiving player should also be encouraged to start acquiring good habits by looking around them (over their shoulder and sideways) to asses the space and time they have and also come to meet the ball instead of waiting for it to arrive. Their first touch should remain within their playing distance and allow their second touch to be their desired one. For example if they wish to pass on their second touch then their first touch should not trap the ball in at their feet.

The passes between the players can vary depending on the situation and the ability of the players. However the passes should be kept low and be easy to control for the receiving player, no awkward bounces or driven in too hard.

As there are many individuals moving around the same area players should be constantly communicating and supplying information and instructions regarding their positions and the time, space and options the player in possession has.
