Key Factors
  1. Ensure players work at their greatest intensity
Starting Position

Players stand by the side of a cone, both sides can be used.

All players on the same side of the cones should be facing the same way. The coach calls out a number. The players must then sprint that amount of cones. For example ‘4’ would require the players’ to sprint to the 4th cone in front of them. Once all players have arrived the coach calls another number. If the players come to the end of the cones while sprinting they should continue down the other side.

Coach can vary their calls so that players are running backwards and turning.

Factors that affect the intensity:

  • Distance between the cones.
  • The number of turns.
  • The frequency of the sprints.
