Players are split into 4 groups. The players in each group stand in a line and opposite another group. The player at the front of the group should have a ball. |

When the coach shouts ‘go’ the players in possession dribble across to the group opposite them. They must complete this as quickly as they feel comfortable and without colliding into any other players. As there are 4 player’s going at the same time the middle area can become very congested, for that reason player’s should keep the ball under close control and dribble with their head up so that they can avoid any other oncoming player’s, as well as looking for space and safe routes through. When they do face an opponent they should look to practice disguising their intentions and perform a ‘trick’ to go past them, and (when possible) accelerate away after completing their trick.
Once through the middle area the dribbler plays a wall pass with the player they are approaching. The pass they played should be with the correct weight so that the receiver can easily control it. The pass should also be played into the receiver’s stronger foot. After passing, the player then adopts a supporting angle (not straight in front) where they can receive a pass back. Once again the pass back to them should be correctly weighted, accurate and to the stronger foot of the receiving player. Once that ball has been played the passing player then begins to run towards the group on the other side of the grid.
