Key Factors
  1. Correct Running Technique
  2. Evident Change of Pace
Starting Position

Players stand around the outside of the centre circle.

All players start in a line around the centre circle. They begin to slowly run around it, all in the same direction. Once they reach the marker they must undergo a change of pace. They continue at this speed until they have reached the starting position or the marker again (coaches’ decision how far they run – obviously the longer the run the harder they will work). Once they have reached the desired point they slow back down to their original speed once again. They then continue at that speed until they reach the marker again. Gradually increase the intensity (speed or distance) of the sprint each time.

Player’s can be placed in order to begin, with the fastest to the slowest in descending order so that no overtaking occurs or varied to encourage overtaking and therefore greater motivation for the people in front.
