Qualification Topics

Football coaching or soccer coaching assessments (depending on the global location of them) can be an extremely daunting, stressful and confusing time for coaches. This is because some candidates may find themselves disillusioned with what is expected of them, while others just require reiteration of what they already know. Regardless of the individual it is always reassuring to know you have access to a resource that can be used to provide assistance and guidance during such times.

Coaches Colleague seeks to offer this support to candidates undertaking their coaching qualifications because we are well aware that, even though they would like to be, coach educators and course deliverers cannot be on hand 24 hours a day to help. However Coaches Colleague can and we endeavour to provide as much support as possible, including;

  • Assessment topic session plans - All fully animated with detailed explanations.
  • Tips from coach educators.
  • On-the-day advice and guidance.

If candidates utilise the information provided within this website and gain the relevant experience and practice then they will be better positioned and equipped to successfully complete your mock and final assessments.

These sessions do not require innovation or uniqueness during their implementation, instead they require a complete understanding and comprehension of what is required to deliver them in accordance with assessment criteria.

England Level 2 Coaching Topics

The syllabus of the Level 2 is a lot more in-depth than that of the Level 1. As a result coaches will be asked to complete a variety of exercises and coaching sessions. The football coaching sessions they will be required to undertake will include;

Technique Orientated Football Coaching Sessions

Technique orientated coaching sessions place the player in an unopposed situation so that they can develop and grasp a basic understanding and the fundamental technique they require execute the exercise. An individuals technique is the foundation that everything else is built upon therefore, it is essential that sufficient time and practice are allocated to it and the correct soccer coaching sessions are implemented. Skill Focused Football Coaching Sessions

Skill focused coaching sessions introduce the player to an opposed environment to allow them to experience performing the techniques they have learnt with pressure applied to them. The pressure can passive or active, but in either scenario the individual begins to develop and establish an understanding of how to execute certain techniques when an opponent is present. As players will always find themselves in an opposed position during a match it is essential that sufficient and realistic time and practice is allowed through the correct soccer coaching sessions to encourage development and improvement. Theme (game related) Related Football Coaching Sessions

Theme (game related) coaching sessions revolve around bringing together what has been learned through the technical and skill coaching exercises and executing them in a game situation. A game situation that has been restricted, organised or designed to focus on one particular coaching outcome.
