Child Protection Issues

The aim of having happy, smiling children playing their football in a safe environment where all are treated equally and where everyone is welcome and respected must be the aspiration of every club. If every parent could guarantee that their children would be respected and treated with dignity when they win or lose and that every effort would be made to ensure their safety at all times then there would be no need to raise Child Protection issues in football at all. Unfortunately this is not true because even in these informed days children are still at risk of abuse in one form or another. Child Protection is ongoing and as such we as adults have to keep up to date and informed in order to protect children, who in many cases are unable to protect themselves.
